Speed Lights

Speed Lights

The use of artificial light adds another dimension to the photographic equation and its mastery is a hallmark of advanced photographers. Aside from the obvious use of artificial light to augment ambient light indoors or at night, it can also be used in broad daylight to lift unflattering shadows or, for the ultimate in photographer control, used in conjunction with camera settings to act as main light source, effectively removing ambient light from the equation.

Speedlites are also the building blocks of the strobist method --- using small off-camera flashes to create big dramatic light, at a fraction of the cost and bulk of studio lights.

We carry a selection of speedlites from Yongnuo. Basic models provide manual flash exposure compensation for most major camera brands while higher models provides additional iTTL/eTTL capability for use with a Canon/Nikon camera.

We also carry external battery packs for both Canon and Nikon speedlights. These battery packs provide extended flash uptimes and quicker recycle times. They are handy for anyone who shoots weddings and other events where slow recycle times could lead to missed moments.
